This one-of-one ring was inspired by cherry blossom trees moving in the wind, capturing the petals, leaves and small pieces of blossom as they get carried through the air.
The ring is handmade in sterling silver, with scattered 9ct yellow gold and sterling silver cherry blossom flowers. Between the flowers, I created a custom diamond-dust texture using an old burr with an upside-down diamond set into the end. This gave me a way of making the tiny marks that represent the smaller petals, pollen, stamens and other little bits of blossom floating in the wind.
At the centre is an IGI-certified 1.96ct Fancy Vivid Yellow lab-grown diamond, finished with a double-prong claw setting to let the stone really stand out.
The whole piece is about movement, contrast and that short moment of blossom being caught in the wind. A true one of one.
